In the Wake of Irma
It has been 30 days since Irma came roaring through Belle Glade creating havoc and destruction. The water may have receded, and the power is back on, but there is still plenty of evidence the storm affected many families. It’s expensive to have a tree removed. Damage costing $2300 may go unrepaired when the insurance deductible is $2500. Buying food and gas takes precedence. Some aid is available, but you must act. Residents impacted by Hurricane Irma may register for FEMA Assistance at www.DisasterAssistance.gov, through the FEMA App or by calling 1-800-621-3362 between 7 a.m. - 11 p.m. Call or go online to find out what can be done for you. But is this system working?
